Pittsburgh-based National Flag Foundation honored before kickoff of Steelers game
It might be a “golden” anniversary, but the National Flag Foundation rang in 50 years of service with a bash that was all red, white, and blue.
The patriotic party was held minutes prior to kickoff of the Pittsburgh Steelers game against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday, Nov. 8.
The Pittsburgh-based nonprofit was celebrated on Heinz Field for its five decades of dedication to educating Americans about the flag, as well as its new headquarters in the 34-story Koppers Tower in downtown Pittsburgh.
Service members from all branches of the military were present as the Star Spangled Banner was performed and Koppers Tower was illuminated red, white, and blue.
On-field pregame activities were held including a jump onto the field by the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute team, and much more.
